Updating RT landing page procedure

Log-in to Web 2 Joomla backend

Click on "Modules"

MODULE DISPLAYING RICE TODAY BANNER ON RT LANDING PAGE

Preparing the banner images

Banner images specs are as follows

• Format: PNG
• Dimensions: 720x330
• Resolution: 72dpi
• Name: article title, use "-" instead of spaces

Creating the slideshow

1. Click on the "Components" tab
2. Click on "Frontpage Slideshow" component
3. Set the category to "Rice Today" 
4. Set the publishing state to "Published" 
5. Select all and unpublish
6. Add new 
7. Set the slideshow category to "Rice Today"
8. Select the source of slide content (click on K2 item)
9. Upload the prepped image file to replace the default file automatically selected by the component.
10. Save

MODULES DISPLAYING RICE TODAY CURRENT ISSUE ARTICLES ON RT LANDING PAGE

Main Stories

1. Set position filter to "TModule 1"
2. Look for "Main stories" module
3. Delete all items under "Select specific items"
4. Use the "Add items" box to select new items
5. Save

Feature stories appearing on the left column

1. Set position filter to "TModule 2"
2. Look for "Current Issue left side" module
3. Delete all items under "Select specific items"
4. Use the "Add items" box to select new items
5. Save

Feature stories appearing on the right column

1. Set position filter to "TModule 3"
2. Look for "Current Issue right" module
3. Delete all items under "Select specific items"
4. Use the "Add items" box to select new items
5. Save

FRONT PAGE MODULE DISPLAYING RICE TODAY COVER

1. Set position filter to "right"
2. Make sure you have the cover image ready for upload to server, the image file must have the following specs
• Format: PNG
• Dimensions: 430x556
• Resolution: 72dpi
• Name: rice-today_<volume#>_<issue#>_cover.png
3. Look for "Rice Today Magazine" module
4. Under "Custom Output", right-click once on the image
5. Select "Insert/Edit Image"
6. Click on "ricetoday" folder under "Folders"
7. Create a folder under images/ricetoday/ using the add folder icon 
8. Name the folder <volume#>-<issue#> (e.g. 12-1)
9. Double-click on the folder you created
10. Upload the cover image using the upload file icon
11. Set Dimensions to 116 x 150, proportional
12. Alignment is set to "Middle"
13. Update
14. Make sure the link is not modified
15. Save the module

MODULE DISPLAYING RICE TODAY CURRENT ISSUE ON RT LANDING PAGE

1. Set position filter to "left"
2. Make sure you have the current issue cover image ready for upload to server, the image file must have the following specs
• Format: PNG
• Dimensions: 600x559
• Resolution: 72dpi
• Name: RT-Current.png
3. Look for "Current Issue" module
4. Under "Custom Output", right-click once on the image
5. Select "Insert/Edit Image"
6. We need to replace the file.
7. Upload the cover image using the upload file icon
8. Set Dimensions to 200 x 186, proportional
9. Alignment is set to "Middle"
10. Update
11. Right-click on the blue DOWNLOAD button.
12. Modify the Scribd link URL
13. Update
14. Save the module
